Ecto Worm Video

Coming from Paranormal Washington is a pretty interesting video of what they call an Ecto Worm and upon googling Ecto Worm I see that Atrueoriginall is already on the case.

Paranormal Washington say they examined the floor thoroughly and found nothing that could have been the falling object. The object is pretty substantial and if it were physical it probably would have been found, just my opinion though.

Giant Snake Photos from Borneo

So the story goes that photos of a giant snake were photographed from a helicopter in Borneo on January 31, 2009. I first read the story on Cryptomundo and I was sure I had seen the photos ages ago, so I read through the comments on the mundo and sure enough a commenter was quick to point out and bust the story.

Just seems like the story is kind of getting out of hand and i hope I'm not contributing to it.

Lake Monster Photo from Argentina

Ever heard of the Nahuelito? I hadn't, but thanks to Cryptomundo I now have. Nahuelito is a lake monster said to live in Nahuel Huapi Lake, Patagonia, Argentina. Cryptomundo has just posted a new photo that is claimed to be of the creature, but it looks just a little to good to me.

It's a detailed post with links to previous research and photos about the creature, sure worth the jump if your into lake monsters.

Giant Squid Attacks Submersible Camera

I have no idea if this is a giant squid, but it sure does look big and I wouldn't want to encounter it on one of my diving trips. There seems to be some discussion to it maybe being a Humboldt squid, someone will sort that out.

The footage to the best of my knowledge was shot at a depth of 1650 feet in the Gulf of Mexico, the videos shows the big squid wrapping its tentacles around the submersible and at one point the remote controlled are tries to nudge it off.

Flying Manta Ray

I'd say most probably fake but it does look pretty realistic, it's branded with The Smoking Nug which is an uncensored news and satire site, so they may be having a laugh.

The footage is supposed to be from 1948 of a flying Manta Ray. There are reports and videos of Manta Ray leaping from the sea, but this video shows a Ray flying supposedly 20,000ft in the air filmed from a plane.

Got my giggles anyway.

Arizona Man's Chupacabra Video

There seems to be a few supposed Chupacabra videos appearing lately, didn't blog about the last one caught on a police camera because it looked like an unhealthy dog... and so does this one.

"An Arizona man claims he has video proof of the legendary chupacabra... He says he has dogs and knows what a dog looks like, but claims, "this is no dog." - abc.com

I can see the resemblance between the creature in this video and others to the more outlandish descriptions of Chupacabra, scaly skin, claws, teeth, spines, forked tongues etc, most mangy dogs look like that. My cousin had a dog that succumbed to some horrible disease, he was a beautiful dog who ended up mangy and nasty and by the claims made of this video, my cousins dog may have been a Chupacabra.

I wonder if she was using a digital camera, takes me less than a second to switch over to video mode and start recording, as it stands, meh.

Update: Thanks to Evita for leaving a comment pointing out that officials have concluded that the creature seen in this photo is a snapping turtle.

Swedish lake Monster Video

Saw the picture of this lake monster from Sweden known as Storsjöodjuret a few days ago, really didn't know what the hell I was looking at, now that I've seen the video, well nothings changed, still can't see what it is. But I'll tell what what it does look like, it looks like a small worm or snake type thing floating around in a green mass of water. There's no reference points, nothing to compare the subject with and just looking at the video I'd find it hard for anyone to conclude what it is.

The video originates from the efforts of the people at this site (I Think), the site has cameras located at "The Great Lake" where the creature supposedly resides. You can also see the original video at the site.

The Rickmat Creature

So Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer (link to their site) may have found a sasquatch corpse, now dubbed the "RICKMAT" creature, I thought the story was over when they posted a confession video on youtube, now gone from their account, they didn't confess to hoaxing the body part mind you, but the video is pretty damaging to their credibility. I don't know if it was in aid of reducing the amount of attention they were receiving but it seems likely.

The earliest news report I could find is from Fayette Daily News, which should give you the low down of who they are and what they got.

After watching the above video I stopped following the story up until a few days ago when I saw a clip of Tom Biscardi on Fox News talking about the whole thing which peaked my interest again.

Turns out they're holding a press release today or tomorrow or something (the whole I'm from NZ things confusing me about the dates) where new evidence will be revealed, there's also been quite an amount of mainstream media coverage of late.

There's also a photo of the supposed creature floating around the net, though it has been quickly likened to a costume that's actually available for purchase, some where. From the comparison picture at that link it's not looking to good.

Well, that's enough mess from me, I've got a little case of information overload. The Blogsquatcher's doing a nice job of keeping track of all the latest developments, I caught up with most of them there, great work mate.

Bigfin Squid Videos

So I thought I'd seen it all when it comes to squids, the videos, the pictures, the live streaming autopsy feeds, little did I Know that there are squids down there in the depths of the sea just as bizarre as those of the giant and colossus types.

What I'm talking about are the Bigfin Squid also nicknamed the long-armed squid, they really do look like something out of an Alien movie only they have way longer tentacles. I'll let the wiki fill you in on the details of these creatures.

I was sent the following video by one of the readers of this blog, I managed to find it on youtube along with a couple others.

At first I almost dismissed this as some kind of computer generated creation, though after a little research I found them to be a real species. All the info you need in identifying where this footage came from is right on screen, lucky that.

It's been pretty hard finding any other videos to embed in this post but I did manage to find a site that has a bunch of footage of the bizarre squid, probably lists all the known footage that's out there.

Geez I love this stuff, I can't imagine how boring life would be without a daily dose of the strange.

Every now and then I bookmark something interesting for research or posting later on, for what ever reason they become lost deep within the ladder of neglected entries in my browsers sidebar.

This weeks Lost Mark is video of a giant squid, I haven't seen this video around much so hopefully it's new to everyone.
