There seems to be a few supposed Chupacabra videos appearing lately, didn't blog about the last one caught on a police camera because it looked like an unhealthy dog... and so does this one.
"An Arizona man claims he has video proof of the legendary chupacabra... He says he has dogs and knows what a dog looks like, but claims, "this is no dog." - abc.com
I can see the resemblance between the creature in this video and others to the more outlandish descriptions of Chupacabra, scaly skin, claws, teeth, spines, forked tongues etc, most mangy dogs look like that. My cousin had a dog that succumbed to some horrible disease, he was a beautiful dog who ended up mangy and nasty and by the claims made of this video, my cousins dog may have been a Chupacabra.
It certainly walks like a dog.
ReplyDeleteCertainly does. You know I'm starting to think that stories of Chupacabra originated from situations like this.
ReplyDeleteI think there has been a curveball thrown into the whole thing, because the chupacabras reports from Puerto Rico describe a creature that looks nothing like these mangy dogs. The first time someone equated the two, I thought, what the hell? But now everyone in the US seems to think a chupacabras is a mangy coyote looking thing. It isn't. That was a stupid mistake someone made a couple of years ago, and it has stuck.
ReplyDeleteMy earliest memories of reading about chupacabra I got the impression that they looked more like gremlins than dogs, it was that texas one or something that got the ball rolling on that one I think.
ReplyDeleteI mean I had a clear vision of what they should look like and I recently did some reading of descriptions of the creature so I could do some accurate drawings, but now I can't get the idea of just drawing a dog out of my head and I'm having a hard time starting the drawing.
Maybe I should just start out with Bigfoot.
Perhaps you should go with Bigfoot tossing a stick for his Chup.
ReplyDeleteI recall the first stories I saw of chupacabra being dissimilar to these mangy dogs as well. However, I imagine if you are up close and personal with a dog/coyote of that ilk, it would like really strange.
Hehe, sounds interesting, could make a good cartoon.
ReplyDeleteYea, I just remember my cousins dog, first time I met him it was the loveliest dog ever, months later on the second meeting he was totally vicious and had pretty much no hair left apart from patches, he looked like something from another world.
I guess in our neck of the woods we've forgotten that dogs/animals can go through hard times and I think it comes as a shock to see animals this way that we don't think it possible, so we attribute it to something other worldly.
out of all the mythical, blood sucking creatures out there, the Chupacabra is almost certainly the sneakiest
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
