A Word About the Paranormal Activity Movie

I've still been keeping track of stats for this site in my absence and awhile back there was quite a huge jump in traffic, this was due to increased interest in a movie known as Paranormal Activity, this site and the movie are not related in any way apart from the similarities in title.

Was quite interesting receiving comments and messages from people thinking this was the movies website, it seemed they took the first result they stumbled upon and assumed or accepted without question that they must be where they were looking for, it's gotta say something about the nature of the internet.

Well, the movies OK, but I found it quite frustrating, they have paranormal shit happening to them, they have evidence to deny any doubts they may be having, why didn't they go to a church or something, would have been more proactive than what they did.

  1. I believe film critic Roger Ebert invented the phrase \idiot plot\ to describe movies like this (i.e., where the storyline is dependent on the characters behaving like idiots). IIn real life people wouldn't walk down a hallway where the lights mysteriously went out and creepy noises are heard. Nor would they stay in a house and cohabit with a demonic spirit for very longt.

However, the movie did make it clear that it was the woman who was haunted by the demon, not the house. Therefore, no matter where she went, like Little Bo Peep's sheep, the demon would follow.

    1. Not every one react to something alike, now remember some movie are to bad. Peoples when are under of intense scare can react to different. See my case, long time ago I was to young and idiot, my and my best friend was get a book over dark magic, we was choose one, "How get from a evil what you won with no pact with him" he will not give you nothing for nothing, basic won kill us. I remember that day until to today, over 50 years ago, was some invisible ghost who became crazy and start moving anything in that room, a book was said never go out of circle we was doing in a floor for self protection, and was right, we became top scare and stop invoke after a few minutes all became normal. Sure I don'y see a evil, but was feel, like peoples said i never see God and heaven and hell not exist, sure we don't see, but strong feel, many not feel because is not believe, only I was learn don't play games with a evil or Demon never and don't use a quija board also.

  3. Hey PurrlGurrl, didn't know there was a term for this kind of movie, seems like most movies are built around this idea.

I kind of considered talking about how the entity was attached to the woman, but it seemed kind of like a spoiler, so I left mentioning that out.

LOL, but it doesn't really seem to matter considering the idiot plot.

  6. This movie sucked the ectoplasm from a dead man's balls!

I stop watching it after 40 minutes. Super Boring! There was no way the rest of the movie would turn out better then watching dung beetles play with poop. It's online marketing was way over hyped.

  9. They should make a movie about the Old Alton Bridge. This is a little bit of the legends of the Goatman's bridge.

There have been several disappearances on and around Old Alton Bridge. Most notably, one that occurred November 15th 1967. The Denton newspaper at the time did an article on a mustang found abandoned on the bridge and there were lots of people that reported other missing persons linked to the Goatman's bridge and the Goat man.

The story is that Klansmen raided the house of the Goatman, Oscar Washburn, and killed his family after attempting to lynch him over the side. The legend says that he disappeared over the side and now attacks anyone who crosses the bridge at night in an effort to protect his family.

  14. I think the movie was quite real, because no actor could act like this, the woman was screaming and crying like a real person who is scared.
And the second movie about paranormal activity is quite scary and real to.

  15. I think that the movies is great because of the photography. It feels more real in that way than high quality camaras. The second one, I can say for sure that it has a bigger script and they try to take more risk because there are more cast involved. The story in my case I think that they fix some flaws that the first one had.
