Zeitgeist: Addendum is pretty much all about the worlds monetary system, how everything's tied into it and how it's a concept that is built on something worthless, but manipulates so much. Zeitgeist addendum I feel does a better job of tying it all together, giving us a better understanding of just how our world is run. Addendum is easier to digest than the first movie and without the Christianity block presented in the first, I feel the message is more clearly defined.
Addendum explores how our monetary system works, how countries, societies and the world are manipulated through the use of this system and eventual explores alternatives to our current systems. It all seems so easy to understand after watching Addendum, our current system centers around creating debt and maximizing profits, if we live in a world where every thing is abundant and available to everyone, we would have no meed for money and a system based on worthless numbers.
Addendum proposes that technological advancement is the solution to this problem, I can't grasp this concept fully right now, I do understand tech has made life easier for a lot of us, it's the getting it up and running and available to all that I can't grasp, I guess the first hurdle would be getting abundant, clean, efficient energy up and running.
The release of Addendum couldn't have come at a better time, with the current economic dramas and all, time for a change, time for a better system.
Talk about timely.
ReplyDeleteI just watched ZII for the first time a couple of days ago. Boy I love it. I have it on my video iPod now.
You know, I can now see how people 100 years from now will look back at our time and regard us with the same idignation as we do when we look back at the slave trade.
Money is debt. Debt is money. I really see that paradox very clearly.
Doesn't this mean that anyone and everyone who's in debt can be forgiven of their debts, since the whole monetary system is based on a fallacy?
Hi DK Fynn, I loved the movie to, but there are a dew things in it I can't really grasp. Sure we could be all debt free, but so many people would loose out initially, especially the big buggers. Their motivation seems to be all about maximizing profits, they would never give up without a fight.
ReplyDeleteI can see a future like the one proposed in addendum, the problems I see with it is that with so much spare time I would imagine we'd reproduce like mad, eventually leading to land issues. But by then I'd like to think we would have the ability to inhabit other worlds.
At least the movies inspire thought and discussion.
Cheers for the comment.
http://www.thevenusproject.com/ as mentioned in this movie sounds good and would likely get the world to focus on more importaint things. till I wanted one of these new world homes of the future where money wouldnt have any value and found they cost Price $550,000.00

LMFAO, that's a little expensive, especially for a society that's not supposed to run on money.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the Venus site, it makes me wonder just how far into the future is this concept, I'm sure I'll never see people visiting space hotels in my life time, well not like I'd imagine them.
im half way into reading their free 74 page pdf. sadly the futurebydesign DvD costs too much $25 DvD too. im leaning with modern human behavior is more likely to mail order a star trek parody porno insted this for that price. But this could be logical to ease Society into such without it being looked at as a utopian cult. starting in Florida there will be plenty of motivated homeless or some middle class willing to work for food and shelter for a new place in the world where if they are holding out for rich elite or wealthy thinkers they likely to only just talk and not get things done. but nothing should be able to stop anyone else from doing this. just dont build a city from these designs, your likely to get a copyright lawsuit. page 2 the movie ends I feel needing to cover some more possible solutions.
ReplyDeleteI'm judging a book by the cover when it comes to the Venus Project folks. Just looking at the concept art for those houses, I just can't imagine even in a utopia, everyone being able to live in houses like those, just not enough coast to go around. Then again Dubai is looking pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think once the technologies around to back up their vision, changing societies attitude may not be to hard.
Cheers Skunkeen, I should really give reading that pdf a go.
finished the PDF right after the last post. the venus project still sounds like it would more likely create more laws on human behaviors and creativity then current society on things we dont consider extreme today and be judged by machines. so if your great great great grandson becomes fat and enjoys his own farts in public locations and plans to direct the next Friday the 13th chapter 50 while smoken cigarettes he wrote the script in the woods while drunk and having a bonfire and used the creek as his urinal for insperaition. would machines or this future society of this deem his behavior a danger to others and the earth and have a machine judge and issue punishment so and either fix his mental illness or relieve humans from the need to worry about it and sentance death and use his corpse for the greater good to furtilize green beans for a happy family dinner. there is a comment about bad rolemodels being a crime and im not sure humans or machines will ever be able to become the pro judge on such
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound to idyllic, loved your example. It actually sounds like a very boring future, kind of like the movie Demolition Man.
ReplyDeleteyes technically it would. like the video said, and its true, if we paid back all debt, there would be no money left in circulation, and with only 20% of our actual money in circulation, the rest on computers, it would be completely realistic to do something like that. but its not going to happen until all of us stand up and say, we are not doing this anymore! as long as the fast fu&ks in this country are quiet and complacent, then we will never see change, and we will have a one world government before we know it. as soon as this whole system fails the way they set it up to, they are going to say 'we have a solution' and of course everyone will follow, and off to the 1 world government we go, or at least one step closer.
ReplyDeletei fear the state of our country when people who know less about the military and the monetary system than we do, are in power.
Nicely post of "Zeitgeist: Addendum".
